Marfan Syndrome
Marfan Syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the body’s connective tissue. This disorder affects the heart and blood vessels; bones and joints; eyes; and lungs. Every one in 5,000 people has it. One of my role models (Austin Carlile, shown to the left) has this particular disorder, which was passed down genetically from his mother, who passed away due to an aortic aneurysm from that same disorder. This disorder is incurable for now, but is being researched to see if there is any sort of cure for it.
